Mindfulness and Self-Care Workshops

Research shows that mindfulness and other self-care practices have a myriad of benefits for parents and caregivers, such as improving their ability to effectively communicate, problem-solve, as well as better understand and meet their children’s needs. This program (2 sessions or more) includes guided meditations, simple exercises, and discussions that help improve caregivers’ relationships with their children and are proven to alleviate common feelings associated with parenting, such as guilt, disappointment, shame and embarrassment.

Mindfulness at Home

This program (4 sessions or more) teaches parents simple mindfulness strategies they can model and use at home with the entire family. Caregivers are introduced to activities that build their children’s capacity to connect, breathe, move, focus, and relax and learn how these practices can help children and adults regulate emotions and build resiliency.

“I spend so much time stressing about something that has happened or will happen, and don’t allow myself the time and space to just be. Marissa’s session really helped me to go through calming steps to achieve mindfulness in an active way, and I’ll definitely be using these strategies she showed us more in the future.”
